for those you have some low DAT scores, I hope this will give you some hope...

my DAT: AA 18/TS 20/ PAT 15 (I had a QR 14 too)
cumGPA: 3.5
sciGPA: 3.5

I have gotten interview invites from UMDNJ and NYU. NYU seems to interview A LOT of people so it may not be a big deal to get an interview there but I know UMDNJ is very selective about who they interview. Just wanted to post this on here for those who got a couple low scores on the DAT like me. I know how stressful it was to wait to get that first interview!

Question: does anyone know exactly what percentage of people NYU accepts from the people they interview?

I believe NYU takes about half of who they interview.

BTW when did you take ur dats and when was your AADSAS mailed out? Thanks.

if i didn't remember it wrong I think they interview 600 people and the class size is 230. Sothat's a bit higher than 1/3.
However they also accept some people without interviewing... that makes the calculation hard to be precise.

I had submitted my application at the end of June and I took the DATs at the end of August. Yeah, it seems that they accept a lot less than half the interviewed people. Thanks for your inputs!

not true at all..they dont accept a lot less than 1/2 the amount they interview. they interview about 400 before early december i believe..so you have to take into account when you interview..because that matters obviously. i believe its about 60/40 acceptance..but i could be wrong.

I have similiar scores and have interviews to University of Louisville, University of Kentucky and University of Tennessee.

pb07 do you mind me asking when you got your UMDNJ invite? I have similar stats, and took the dat same time but still nothing. Also did they call you or sent you an email?

UMDNJ invite was via mail for me.

Also I was in the Gateway to Dentistry program there over summer. They said they look specifically at sci GPA, sci DAT, and reading comp DAT. Not so much QR/PA.

Someone said that NYU accepts half of those that they interview? I thought they also accept some without interviews...is this still true? (if it ever was...)
