It's looking like that's where I'm heading. I sent in my deposit a month ago. If something really amazing hits me then I'll have to rethink, but I'm pretty psyched to be moving down to Lewisburg!

Hey guys! CONGRATS on your acceptance!

I am a second year student at WVSOM and will be glad to help you with any of your questions. Naturally, I think you made the right choice...

People are VERY friendly at WVSOM...there are quite a few luxuries that I don't think other schools offer.

Lewisburg is SMALL (esp. for someone from a city), but BEAUTIFUL. Many students take advantage of its many outdoor activities...hiking, rock climbing, etc. There are a few bars, a night club, and a couple small town movie theaters, BUT you are only hour and a half from Charleston (that is where I will be on rotations)and Roanoke. It is a great environment for medical school....you need as little distractions as possible!

I was recently accepted to wvsom. Unfortunately, the deposit is due only a day after i will be notified about an MD school I interviewed at and would like to attend (about $30,000/yr cheaper!). Plus i still have an interview ive not yet attended at another excellent allopathic school (also cheaper). The acceptance letter 4 those schools will def be bittersweet knowing i just had to swallow that $2000 🙁 anyone out there in a similar situation? Does the school allow 4 extensions on the deposit deadlines?

If I were you I would do as little as possible because if you are SBL you are going to get hit hard with Anatomy right away. Take about 2 weeks before school starts to study med. term. Just a little bit every day. Most people can score a 100% on it without studying but it is good stuff to know. Get to Lewisburg at least a month in advance. The last thing you want to be worried about is getting cable, phone . . . hooked up when you should probably be studying.

I got an extension for different reasons. They do give them. I do not know if you want to tell them it is because you are waiting on an allopathic school. If you heart is set on being an allopath and it is just not financial reasons I would just not give my deposit.
