16 hours till December 1st central standard time. heehhhee
anybody find a timer link, that would be cool.

The only school I might hear from tomorrow is UCSF (I interviewed at the others too late to hear from them on the 1st, kind of upset about that one, but that's another story), and they're only giving out around 20-25 admits on the 1st. Anyone else who interviewed there think they might update the Web Tools at midnight to say if were part of that admit group? Just wondering if I should stay up that late (I have 6 am morning practice, so I usually go to bed early).

I officially have no idea about the site updates, but my intuition tells me that the administrators at the dental schools aren't going to be quite as worked up as we are about this whole December First thing. If I were someone handling the logistics of notifications, I'd be looking at 12/1 like a deadline rather than a life-changing event of apocalyptic proportions, so I'd be thinking to myself:

"okay, I just have to get all this turned in by 11:59pm and then I can tell my boss I got it all done today"

rather than:

"everything should be made available first thing for all those poor suffering pre-dents and so I'll get it all prepared early and then at midnight I'll upload all the info!"

😉

So, um... anyone going to be able to sleep soundly tonight?

On the SDN downloads page, if you scroll down to the category "Timers," there's one there. The only thing is that the alarm won't sound unless the program is in focus (on top) and I can't find an option to keep it on top of other windows. But I think for the counting down part it would be highly effective!

(5 hours till 12/1 CST!)

sleep?!? you mean that semi-comatose thing that some people do where you close your eyes and next thing you know it's Dec. 1???

um, that would probably be a good thing to do, yeah. i'm not :scared: :scared: :scared: because i only interviewed at one school early enough to hear by 12/1, but am :scared: :scared: because that one is one of my top choices.

and i will not be sleeping tonight becuase i have an immunology exam tomorrow for which i haven't studying - been posting here instead 😀

It is so hard to stay focused tonight! Or maybe I'm just looking for an excuse not to 🙂

most of mine are after 12/1 also... but on the positive side, we probably won't have to wait so long between interview and (please God!) acceptance as those who interviewed in september...

we have interviews, and that means we're already ahead of the game, right? :luck:

Hmmm, I'm beginning to think that maybe if I try to go to sleep, then the night will pass more quickly and morning will seem to come sooner.

HA!!  WHAT was I THINKING??
