Hello sdn'ers! Although I have been a member for a while I am normally the observer. Now everything is coming to a wrapping and I have a couple questions that I am sure you have all heard before...sorry. I was curious if somebody could give me some feedback on my stats and chances of applying this coming summer.

Undergraduate school: University at Buffalo
Overall GPA: ~3.94
Science GPA: ~3.9

I have received A's in every class except Organic Chem part one, which I got an A- and US History....B+ (I know....who can mess up a History class)

Obviously on the Dean's List and all of that.

I am a teacher assistant in Cell Biology. I have just started to teach review lectures and have run labs in the past.

I will begin shadowing about five hours a week this upcoming week...for a total of about 200 hours by this coming August.

I was involved in a very competitive program as a Senior in High School...went to school at a Hospital and rotated through every part of the Hospital three times a week, four hours at a time, for a year...as well as classes at the hospital. I know H.S. work in your Senior year is usually meaningless....but I figure this was beyond the normal.

My extracurricular activities are lacking beyond being a TA and tutoring. I work normally at least twenty hours a week and beyond forty during the summer months.

So giving this info....I know the MCAT is a big part....what does anybody have to say? Competitive? Average? Below par? Thanks for the help.

Well below par!..what were you thinking???...jk jk

You know where you stand as of now...........get your MCAT and letters of reccommendation to match your GPA and other activities and you should be in a very favorable situation....

i've seen that word thrown around alot here, but haven't been here long enough to have it explained.....

"I have a 3.9 GPA, what are my chances?" threads are generally frowned upon in these forums...

however, ill give you the benefit of the doubt this time, and say your in good shape as long as you dont completely bomb the mcat.

Get a clue. A near perfect GPA isn't something to pretend you don't know if it's good or not.

I never replied 'cause I thought this person was an undercover troll...sorry if I am mistaken but... I dunno

No clue if they are fake or not but what the ****, I have nothing better to do while I am on duty:

everything else looks good
