I HEARD that surgery program is not very strong and residents are not very happy.

Most of what I have heard has not been positive.
While I am not bad mouthing any program...realistically in the Cleveland/Akron area there are 3 Allopathic residencies that soak up alot of the high volume and high acuity patients. Both Akron programs are very DO friendly and Case always has a DO resident. It could be said that there are stronger OH Osteopathic programs...

Thanks Doc Wagner🙂

I heard this place doesn't even pay for meals. I can't imagine myself trying to scury up a few cents and bucks everyday for the next four years just to eat or grab a drink. Those dirty rats! 😡

I've also heard (from faculty/residents at Case) that Southe Point is not exactly the most desirable program. Much of this stems from the fact that in cleveland you've got Metrohealth and Cleveland Clinic getting all the really sick people. Supposedly a lot of nursing home patients end up at south point (more than normal for a ED w/a residency program, anyway).

Ohio in general is very DO friendly so I'm confident that this opinion doesn't have anything to do with a MD/DO bias.
