Hey guys, i know that spatial ability and mechanical perception are essential in dental school and dentistry as a profession. I am not quite in that level of comfort with regards to the said abilities. do you guys have any resources (tests, ways, whatever) on how i can improve both abilities?

I heard pottery classes and classes wher you work with your hands and eye coordination really help. Pretty sure you'll get better as you progress along in dental school.

pottery classes and model building are for hand-eye cooridination and manual dexterity. Spacial ability is more a mental thing. It's your mental ability to formulate 3D objecs in your mind and manipulate them(twist and rotate) while retaining the characteristics of the object. Obviously, this is useful in order to take multiple 2D images (X-Rays) and construct a 3D object (the tooth) in your mind.

How to practice this? Hmmm..other then doing dentistry, I guess do more PAT problems.

Video games helped me with my hand/eye coordination! 👍
