Special Masters Program ?

St. Joseph in Conn. has a Masters in Biology with a non-thesis option. The classes that it offers are mostly health-related classes. Some of the classes offered are listed below:


Advanced Physiology
Cell Biology
Virology
Pharmacology
Toxicology
Endocrinology
Cancer Biology
Immunology
Genetics
Clinical Problem Solving
Medical Bacteriology
Neuroscience
Parasitology
Etc.

Even though this program is not listed as a Special Masters, would it still be considered one? The textbooks that are used are some of the standard Med school one such as Guyton.
Since Georgetown is too far and I can't pick up, quit the job and move right now, I was considering doing this program. It can be done in 1.5-2 years.

Would appreciate some opinions.

Well it would certainly prove you can handle hard medical science. But the "special" in SMP refers to a potential direct comparison between your performance and the medical school class distribution you would compete against in an "SMP." The category does blur in some cases but that's the gist of it.
