I used to cringe at this group’s subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) disdain for the practitioner part, but I think they have either softened on this, or are just articulating themselves much better as their thinking/training model evolves. I now have to agree with much of this given the changing nature of healthcare and the way psychologists are getting squeezed by mid-levels.
I still have to wonder where they think the market is for this though. I just dont see much of it. 95% of the job postings I see for clinical psychs are either academic or traditional service delivery that consisits of the old tride and true combo of assessement and therapy.
I suppose their arguement is that we have to be the ones to push and create it. I dig it, but not sure how well it can work without the infrastructure to support it.
