so its time for me to choose a dental school to attend and I'm looking at a good state school and a great private institution.
when it comes to the private institution, the specialization rates of their class is about 30%. but is that skewed because of the types of students that attend here are most likely entering dental school with a wish to specialize and obviously a great academic record.
when it comes to my state school, its well known as a great clinical facility. during my interview, i was very impressed with the relationship the students seemed to have with the faculty and i really feel like the school wanted me to go there.
so my question:
Is it the type of student that attends the private institution that improves their specialty rate, or is it the "superior education" provided at said university that causes their high specialty rates.
thanks
