I am planning on aplying to D school next year, but I would really like to specialize after I obtain my DDS/DMD. I understand that specializing is so competitive that you have to be in the top of your class in both your undergrad AND dental school in order to even qualify to appy. As of right now I have had a 4.0 GPA since my first term. I have been talking to alot of dental professors, students, advisors, and dentist about this, and they all keep telling me that if I want to specialize that I don't want to go to a very prestigious dental school b/c it is nearly impossible to finish in the top of your class when everyone else in your class is atleast as smart or smater than you. What are your guys thoughts on this? What schools should appy to and which schools shouldn't I appy to if my ultimate goal is to specialize?
