Hypothetically, if you have minimal to no debt, Are there certain specialties that make more sense than others from a financial perspective in this case?

Will finish school with no debt, and looking to either purchase a practice or buy into a partnership after residency. Are there certain specialties that make more sense than others from a financial perspective in this case?

The same ones than if you came out with debt

I came out of med school debt free. It's a very fortunate position to be in because you can literally take whatever job you want (an academic job that pays significantly less than what I'd make in PP, albeit with good benefits, in my case). Since you have the luxury of choosing whatever specialty you want (assuming your credentials are good enough to get into a residency), go into whatever you like best.

A debt-free life is a chance to live just a little bit larger. Therefore do what you want to do.

Debt-free? At least primary care is an option for you. It isn't for many who come out with $400K+ in debt. You just can't service that on a very low salary.
