I will be trying to email AACOMAS about this and calling them up. But i tried before in the summer for a similar class and the person on the phone hardly spoke english and had no idea what I was talking about. In the emails, they just copy/pasted things from their website that didn't really help. So you guys can help me here. Hopefully for me, somebody here has been in a similar situation.

I took this class 3 semesters ago and failed: "Special Topics - 18th century European History" Course number: 3210

I am looking to take this class in the upcoming Spring semester for a retake: "18th Century History" Course number: 3210 (the same exact course number, but a slightly different course title)

I am wondering if AACOMAS will count this as a retake?

I think they will count as retake since the course number is the same.

I hope so.

Oh, and I just talked to some high ranking faculty members at my school, and it doesn't look like my school will count this as a repeat. Will this influence the way that AACOMAS views these courses?

AACOMAS is pretty liberal about retake. I retook courses at a differant college. The course numbers were, of course differant. The course content was the same. Don't worry.

I think that the identical course numbers will definitely weigh things in your favor. Try and get AACOMAS to confirm this in writing if you're not sure, but don't let this hold the rest of your application back.
