I have a inquiry regarding the PAT section of the DAT. I've practiced it with CDP, but speed is somewhat of an issue. Pattern folding is most difficult for me when it's a cube with lots of non-dice patterns. TFE is hit or miss for me. If I stress and try to make it perfect, I'm too slow and do alright, if I just try to intuit it as best I can, I'm fast and can get about 75% of them correct which isn't stellar.
Hole punching is easily my favorite, and I can get 100% on CDP by inspection with approximately 40 seconds per problem. My complaint is that this is still slow, and I don't seem to get much faster. If possible, I would like to speed up my hole punches so that I can have extra time on other sections. If I make a tic tac toe table ahead of time, I'm slower on some of the easier questions but my overall speed is improved.... I looked the ADA sample but the punch holes were an absolute joke, and I assume that I won't see single holes like that.
I've been informed that one now has grid paper for scratch paper. Do any of you use the grids to make a tic tac toe board ahead of time so that you can blaze the PAT? I didn't know if that was a valid thing or not to do during the tutorial.
