I understand this is splicing mutation, but do not really understand how the process of splicing to occur? Why is the end of GU is important in splicing?

thanks

If I remember correctly, the beginning of the splice site (on the intron side) is always GU and the end (in the intron again) is AG.

but from this question stem, you can only see the begin of GU, no end of AG. Only one side is enough to get the right answer?

Where does someone even learn something like this? Not at my school, at least.

I haven't looked at the question, but please tell me that getting it correct doesn't depend on already knowing what bases introns begin with.

Sweet tapdancing Moses, this was on my exam today. I owe you guys, like, a dollar or something. (I only finishd 85% of UW and never hit this question)

man, wtf lol. i've got to go through world like 5x times to have crap like this stick, lol

I am so happy to know that.

But still need someone to comfirm that only one side marker like begin with GU or end with AG in the question stem will lead to the answer?
