Sports Med Job Market 2024-2025

Hi everyone!

I wanted to ask everyone out there (primary care sports medicine regardless of primary specialty) how is the job market looking like from your end?

I'm a PM&R/Sports Med doc and searching for jobs at like 3-4 cities has been excruciatingly difficult. Even if I were like "I want to be in X instead of Y city", it's still impossible for me to find a job. I feel there are definitely more opportunities for fam/internal med sports doc... How are people finding jobs? I've tried the career center at AMSSM, ACSM, and my specialty, and also indeed, linkedin...

It’s not an easy job market, especially if your heart is set solely on only practicing non-operative orthopedics. The gigs are out there, but you need to search long and hard and maybe be willing to relocate. I practice primary care sports med (hybrid setup).

Just call the Ortho groups and see if they need someone... if you can do EMG,s that should perk their interest, the rest is explaining how else you can help
