Hi everyone,

I was wondering what the difference is between the HP/Philips Sprague style stetho's and the generic ones that are like 1/5 the price? The craftsmanship doesn't seem to be much different and the generic ones sound loud and clear to me (even better than the Littmans). I heard HP's patent ran out on them or something which is why there are so many cheaper versions:

Can anyone confirm that the generic = HP for quality?

If it sounds better than a Littman, go for it (mine is brand-name (made by Phillips now) and it sounds WAY better than a Littman).

If you can find one, get the Craddock/Pelham bell for it too.
