I will have 7 classes (including research) and a part-time job.
Here is the list of my classes.

Environmental Studies
Environmental Studies
Music
Music 4th semester Jazz
Organic Chemistry 2nd Semester
Physics 2nd Semester
Biology Independent Study

Total 18 credits (full classload).
I was thinking of taking organic chemistry lab and biochemistry, but it turns out that I cannot all fit those in and I am now planning on double-majoring in environmental studies, so I decide to take a couple environmental studies. What do you think?? Does it look a little light or heavy? Because I don't want admisssion committe think I am a slacker

Looks light to me. Anything under 21 hours and a full-time job and the adcom's will think you're lazy.

well, a few semesters ago when i was searching for a job and was taking a measly 21 credits became a bit of a questionable area during interviews. It was kind of rough explaining that i was searching for a full time job, but didnt have one!

I'd bump it to 21 hours and add a rigorous upper level engineering course to show that you aren't lazy.

Dude 18 credits while working.... you are fine and not lazy. If you kill the DAT and have a good GPA >3.5 science and overall adcoms wont care if you took 18 or 21 credits.

the maximum credits I can take is 18 credits. If I take over 18, I have to pay extra money....

If your grades and dat are good... As long as your full time and graduate in 4-5yrs... Course load shouldn't matter. I took between 12-17 credits and made up classes during the summer to keep my grades up while I worked two jobs and shadowed. I was never even questioned about course load just applauded for good academics. I had multiple 12 and 15 credit semesters so your def fine.

It doesn't look very "light" to me.... you're fine I think.

You are fine man. 18 credit hours is a lot! In my opinion, anything above 15 credits is fine. The fact that you are working, going to school, shadowing etc. Proves that you aren't being lazy. Dental schools know that potential students have to have lives outside of school! So relax! Take 18 credits, have fun and enjoy undergrad. I think taking 20+ hours with the amount of other things is overkill, and puts you at risk. But IMHO you are fine, don't stress about courseload if you are above 15 credits. As long as you are doing other things, which you are, dental schools will be fine with your courseloads.
