Hey everyone,

So I am looking for some thoughts, any would be great. I finished a 18 credit graduate all-biology semester last fall, and now I'm finally done with my 36 credit Master of Science in Biology (gpa = 4.0).

The problem is that this coming semester, I have no more bio to take, and although my combined sciGPA is 3.31 my undergrad sciGPA is still about 3.10. I have taken every type of biology course offered at the university.

So I am planning to finish english pre-reqs and 1 microbio, maybe add in a macroeconomics class.

Basically, I am looking at 10 or 13 credits this coming semester. Would adcom really care how many credits i take this coming semester at this point? Especially since I've shown to my ability to handle a heavy graduate course-load in a masters program (especially this last 18 credit graduate semester?).

I am thinking of just relaxing and doing more ECs (which I have heard from people that it does not really matter that much since it is a numbers game).

Too bad that you are an international student..
your DAT score and grad GPA deserve at least one or two acceptances..

For real - 24 DAT 4.0 masters w/ 3.3 gpa. You should be proud of yourself. I hope you get in soon. You put some people I know to shame that have been accepted.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

However, I am still looking for thoughts on how many classes I should take.

Take the classes man. You can't take a break, and you need to do everything you can to better your application. Take the classes -reapply- and become a dentist. Oh and I would take pchem.

No one really knows the answer. My guess is, 10 or 13 credits won't hurt you at all. You've shown you can handle way more than that.

Are you taking these 10-13 as post-bacc? or masters still?

One thing I'd like to suggest is (and this is out side of this thread)... If you plan to apply next cycle again, I STRONGLY recommend you apply to both michigan schools (michigan and detroit mercy). They are very good at looking at most recent performances rather than just pure numbers
