Hello!I hope you can help me...
I've been taking 20 mg of generic citalopram for 4 days. Since then I suffer from insomnia - I've never had this kind of problem before. I fall a sleep but after 3-4 houres I wake up and can't fall a sleep again. I feel a bit tired and I'm afraid I won't be able to learn. Is it temporary?

Is this the first time you have taken an ssri? Personally, I have tried about 4 different medications and I suffered side effects including insomnia, irritaibilty, excessive sleepiness, ect. After, trying different medications I finally found one that worked for me.

With some medications however, it will take awhile for your body to adjust and sometimes the side effects will go away after time. The one medication I found that worked well with my body, I felt like my thought process was somewhat cloudy in the beginning of taking the medication. After a couple weeks however, this feeling went away and I began to feel a lot better.

Not a doc, just my experience.
