I'd be happier w/ speed...think of how focused we would all be!

Just say "no" to drugs. Say "yes" to mandatory sexual tension-releasing activities.

Come on, not like most med students are getting any anyway.

Yeah, I miss my pre-med sex life...Hey, any 2nd-3rd-4th years, does it get any better? Like when you start your rotations or something. Is hospital a good pick-up place?

SSRI and ritalin - any interactions? 😎

Ha! All the places I've seen, the average hospital employee is pushing a BMI of 40.

Damn, too bad teddy-bear is not my type... You would think people who work in healthcare would want to avoid becoming on the receiving end and thus be conscientious about healthy nutrition and exercise!

As a 4th year med student ( at long last ) I've never understood the sterotype that "most" med. students are sexually repressed and/or just ain't getting any. Not to be a tough guy about it, but I have seen very little decline in sexual activity since starting med school. The biggest drag on this personally for me was in the six week build up to my step I, but even then I was in a relationship and it was something I controlled.
I think the guys who are not getting laid in med. school are the same ones who were not getting laid prior to med. school. That, and/or some folks are jut overly focused on their studies to the exclusion of all else. But from my anecdotal observations if you are smart enough to get into med. school taking a night off to blow off some steam really is not going to break the camels back. Then there is the gym. If you live in a big city all kinds of meeting places exist all around....activities clubs etc. Whatever usually works for you with respect to striking up conversations
Third year can be a B**ch for time and all esp. on surgery and Ob/gyn..but even still. Anyway just my $0.02. Oh, and I would advise against defecating where you eat..ie. dating within the hospital where you work. Works for some I guess.....but the potential fallout is not worth it IMHO.

Not to go off-topic, but your avatar brings me great joy, surebreC. That was my favorite episode of the Simpsons...

I would suggest prophylactic anti-depressants prior to starting MS3 for anyone not planning on practicing clinical medicine (i.e. all you future pathologists). 🙂

and don't underestimate the power of this line...

"seriously, baby, i can prescribe anything i want" - dr. nick riviera
Exactly...throw in the extra bonus of a free pap smear and you're in!This is best done with the buttoned down to the navel shirt, chest hair sporting, gold chain hanging, lick of the lips, knowing wink, and greasy, sexysleazy voice turned to superdrive. I've had the best success while wearing my button down "trust me I'm a Doctor" shirt on. Works every time!😉

I'm voting for sex rather than ssri's.
