Nestled between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, St. Augustine is ideal for boaters, sailors, surfers, golfers, and all outdoor enthusiasts! The Jacksonville Jaguars are less than an hour away. For all you golfers, the World Golf Village is 20 minutes away, as is Ponte Vedra (host of TPC Sawgrass). Artists, painters, and photographers abound in a city full of galleries and great restaurants. The schools in the area are highly rated, and St. Augustine is home to Nationally renowned Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. St. Augustine is a great place to raise a family. Flagler Hospital is a beautiful modern facility that sits on the Intracoastal Waterway and was recently awarded Magnet status. Our group's employees enjoy a great working relationship with surgeons and hospital staff. We provide a team approach and supportive environment, where we encourage workers to help one another and go beyond the call of duty. Imagine working in an OR where everyone smiles and is pleasant to one another! Our patients comment on our friendly atmosphere endlessly! We have no trauma and never will. The administration is fully supportive and we have the most up to date equipment. Our heart program (rated #1 in NE Florida) is well established and continues to grow. Surpassing rigorous standards, our anesthesia program was chosen by a US military CRNA training program to teach their students. Enjoy the opportunity to mentor a future CRNA! Don't wait, respond today! Vacation while you interview!"

I can't stand it when a job advertisement sounds like an advertisement for a place to get a massage and a good Margarita under the sun!
When they talk too much about beaches and white sand it usually means:
Come join our team of abused underpaid slaves who work for a bunch of fat cats who don't want to take call anymore.
I am not saying that this specific location is like that but this is the usual deal especially in the Sunshine state.

That position has been advertised for more than a year now 😉

It means that they are a clinical site for a CRNA training program.
Not really - they believe that it is a "privilege" to train CRNA-s which eventually will claim that are "the same" as us. I don't wonder that the position is unfilled. Also, all this "outdoor" BS....be aware - means no money for the work.Maybe they hope to hire some MD-s that have deaf kids - they mentioned the school for mutes and deaf children.
Anybody knows more about this gig?

I think I met the guy(s) who started this group while I was a resident in Jax. Seemed like nice guys who used to be attendings at Mayo-Jax. From what I have heard, they worked hard to establish a profitable group (one of the founders had a nice Maserati Quattroporte) and were looking to hire new associates at a level beneath what I would have been comfortable with. Actually, I was a CA-2 interviewing at the time and told them over drinks about my offers, which were as high as $400k. They chuckled about that salary as I know they were offering just over half of that. I got the impression that they would hire folks who wouldn't see the kind of money that the founding partners made. Then again, I'm not sure anybody is going to make that kind of coin in the future anyhow. That being said, none of the 4 of us from my year group took a position with them and one of us did interview with them officially.

My $0.02.
