I interviewed at St. Joe in Chicago (on lake shore in lincoln park) and it was so long ago I barely remember it. Anyone want to help me out?

Things I'm wondering about the TY program:

-call schedule
-# of call months
-night float system?
-general day schedule

Thanks!

I have a freind doing medicine there, he hates it. 11 months of call as an intern.

What about the transitional year residents? They obviously don't take 11 months of call since they don't do 11 months of medicine. I THINK they only take overnight call on ICU months and take long call on medicine until 9PM.

Anyone hear of transitional year experiences here?

I rotated at St. Joe's for 6 weeks as an M3 and here's what I remember. q5 short call where you admit form 7am to 3pm (we never took any admissions afer 2:30pm), and q5 long call where you admit from 4pm to 9pm-- there's typically and A team and a B team on short and long call. There is a cap, I can't remember how many patients it is per team, but I felt like our team always admitted about 4-5 and capped early on short call. We were never overwhelmed. It's a pretty chill program compared to all others I've seen.

As for night float obviously they admit from 9pm to 7am. I can't remember how much they do, since we didn't do night float as students.
