Just wanted to start a thread for those of us who are on St. John Fisher's waitlist - so that we may start tracking the waitlist movement. So, if you were accepted, but definitely aren't going - please let us know! 🙂

I was wait listed too. Anyone know more info about their wait list procedures? I only found out that it's not ranked but not much else

I was waitlisted, accepted, spent 2 weeks thinking about it, and then I declined. I guess that's one more seat for the waitlisters to get bumped up. 🙂

Yeaaa.. I've got my last pre-req under my belt and I can hop on a weekend bus to visit home.

thought i'd revive this thread. it's kinda confusing since there's like 3 fisher threads

anyone know anything about the wait list or procedures? I know you had until May 7 to send in the wait list confirmation. But anyone have any info on it? They have been very coy about their admissions process.

Yeah, I agree. They are very coy about their waitlist/ admissions process...😕 Wonder how many off their waitlist last year they accepted?

I emailed them awhile you about their wait list (vefore we had to send in the conformation email).

Dr. O'Brocta said "To answer your questions we do not give out stats on the wait list. We realize this is a difficult time-waiting-however we please know your file is active and we will stay in contact with you."

Another spot just opened up, one of my peers got accepted there but subsequently failed Organic Chemistry II.

Carla called me a few days ago (b/c I was having trouble with email and they couldn't get a hold of me)

She did mention that "we really haven't had to go into it yet" or something like that. That's not exactly good new for us, but I thought I'd send out any info I got from them

Just wanted to revive this thread...so has anyone declined their spot yet at St. John Fisher??!!! I got accepted to Thomas Jefferson in Philly, but want to go to SJF because it's in-state for me (aka cheaper), and LOVE the Rochester area...don't want to go to Philly if I can stay around here! So, it would be great if anyone would let me know that they declined their spot -- to give me some hope at least!!!

Fisher's private, though, it can't be that much cheaper than TJU.

they are practically the same price in terms of tuition. Housing in Philly is def more expensive than Rochestor tho.

I got an email from Carla regarding the wait list

Good afternoon!

It has been a month or so since we last corresponded about the wait list, and we sincerely appreciate your patience in the process. While nothing has changed regarding your status, we did want to touch base again with you to see if you have any updates on your end. From this point forward, we will not be sending any more monthly wait list email updates unless there is something new to report. It can be assumed that if you do not hear from us, your waiting list status has not changed. If your name is selected for an admissions offer as the summer progresses, we will contact you immediately.

One important note - if your email address changes in the weeks to come, make sure you forward that information to us for future correspondences. If now, or at any time, you wish to be removed from our waiting list, please let us know as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will remain on our active list right up until the first day of classes on August 24. Be aware that we do not give out rankings, but if you do have a specific question or concern, please feel free to contact our office, as always.

Yay for us. I have a feeling it will not move for awhile.🙁

Yeah, I got the same email today 🙁 and unfortunately I think you're right, it probably won't move for a while. I really don't think it's fair to us that they don't give us our ranks😕😡

They probably did what most colleges do - accepted more students than they had seats for, knowing what their percentages of decliners are (basing this on their previous years' accept/decline statistics.)

There has been very little movement so far on the wait list Kimberly. I wish I had more encouraging news. Anything can happen over the summer, but we don't want to see you jeopardize any other fall admission plans waiting to know for sure. Unfortunately, it could be the first day of orientation or classes when we have an opening! I don't know what your next admission cycle plans may be, but it may be prudent to go ahead with them for now and then if an opening does occur here for you, we will notify you right away.

Hey! I got a call on July 30th saying I was accepted too...but I declined my seat as well...good luck to someone else!🙂
