can someone give me some recent impressions of this program. Im trying to decide if i want to drop the $400 ticket. I know they recently changed PDs. Do they get a diverse caseload? Their website doesnt show pictures of residents, are they mostly foreign. Thanks!

I also would be interested in hearing about the program a bit. I'm interviewing there this week too. Their website is hopelessly outdated because they are categorical now, as opposed to what the website states. I heard from some others that things have improved overall though.

went there last year, actually like it a lot.

try the search function + interview review last year.

new leadership, pro-resident, subsidized housing in AN AWESOME LOCATION (upper west side, southwest corner of central park!!!!), residents that I talked to were laid back, happy, "not over-worked", I think 3-4 years back it was a different story per reviews/scutwork/old posts... so bottom line, rank worthy, bright future, might become one of the most sought after program in NYC.

and don't forget that it is the home of NYSORA 🙂 👍

I'm an intern at SLR now. As far as I know our entire department is American grads. It's a solid program in a great location in NYC. Regional is what we are known for. The CBY keeps you from moving twice. Numbers are not a problem here, these are two very busy hospitals.

And yes its true, Dr. Santos our new chairman is great and made alot of positive changes. The current CA-3's say the hours have come down substantially, we have CRNA's who help out with the case load. I would tell you more but I haven't started residency yet. I'll have my first anesthesia rotation next month. Check us out.

Specifically:
- Do residents do research here?
- How are the faculty? Mentoring?
-Are residents happy?
-Is the program responsive to resident suggestions for change?
- Is there moonlighting?
