This is last minute but I cant decide which one of these to rank higher than the other. Both programs look similar. Anyone have any opinions. Thanks in advance for you help.

would rank lenox hill higher as it is a nicer hospital/nicer patients with more reliable hours.

just my 2c

Hey, I'm currently a 4th year at NYMC. I rotated thru vinnies and can throw in my 2 cents. I personally did not like the program here. Seemed like a majority of the interns were overworked, and not that much of an emphasis on teaching. In addition, if you compared fellowship match lists, I felt like lenox hill matched better. I am ranking lenox hill higher than vinnies.

Lenox just made some changes to their call schedule (as per an intern friend of mine there) for the better. She is completely happy with her choice to do intern year there. I spent a month in the MICU there and it was awesome. The attendings really loved to teach and it was a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the lack of housing at Lenox is the major reason it will not be near the top of my rank list but if they had affordable housing for interns I would definitely rank it 1. I didn't get a great vibe from vinnies when I interviewed there. I've also been to Vinnie with my wife for ultrasounds and with friends to the ER and the level of care just didn't seem to be quite as high as lenox. Although the patient population is a lot more representative of the city than lenox. Good luck!

I though lenox hill does have subsidized housing for interns.

my understanding is that there is housing but mostly categoricals get it, very very tough for an intern to. Although with that said I believe there is a nominal housing stipend if you don't.
