I remember someone mentioning this. Any other rural docs staff a low acuity rural ED and clinic simultaneously? Do you get paid hourly rates for both? Just curious how that works.

I did this in Wrangell, Alaska. Bear in mind that I was locums so my rates are not the same as a salaried physician since all my travel, housing, and car were included.

I got paid 80/hr to work in clinic M-F 8-5, then if it was my turn to cover ER that day for any time I was in the ER I was paid $115/hr. Plus I was paid $300/day for the day I was on call too. I would average about 2 patients a day in the ER after 5pm
