Does anybody know how easy/difficult it is to qualify for the maximum unsubsidized/subsidized stafford loans? In other words, how much you can have in assets before you will not be given the option to receive the maximum amounts for professional school? Any input would be appreciated.

You will qualify for the maximum up to the Cost of Attendance. That is the only limiting factor.

Assets don't affect your ability to get med school Stafford, only school based grants/loans.

Your assets would only affect how much subsidized you would be eligible for, but they will make up the slack with unsub loans. Not sure what the cutoff point would be before they start reducing your subsidized loans, but I know it doesn't take a lot before they don't offer you a perkin's loan (from personal experience)
