Searched for this, but didn't find anything addressing it.

I've decided I'm going to send short, hand-written thank you cards to my program directors and interviewers.

I was wondering what kind of format you recommend? A small card that opens along a horizontal axis or larger cards that open along a vertical axis?

Would you write your name and address before you start your letter, or use your name/signature at the bottom of the letter as your only identifier?

Also, a somewhat related question: as I was walking into one of my interviews, a staff member who I had worked closely with on an elective apologized to me that he would not be able to attend my interview, but assured me he would put in a good word for me with the committee. Should I send him a card too, along the lines of "nice to see you again, albeit briefly." or just leave him out? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

why send one at all if you're sending it this late

Ok. One very specific question:

Should I include my email address after my (neat) signature on my handwritten cards?

I wouldn't.

If they get the card and decide to write a thank you for the thank you (WHY?), they know how to find you.

If they get the card and can't figure out who you are, it probably wasn't worth writing in the first place.
