Did anyone who interviewed at Stanford get an email/call from the PD saying they were ranked highly or something of the like? If so, did you tell them of your ranking plans as well? My classmate who interviewed there says he received an email from their PD, just wanting to see if this was a regular thing they were sending out.

I didn't get such email =\

kind of late to be worrying about this. just bask in the post-rank list submission glow and realize there is nothing you can do at this point.

also realize that there is ALOT of lying between programs and candidates on the trail in regards to ranking...so I would not stress on it at all

yeah, i know it's late to worry about it. i am just curious if others had the same experience.

although it does kind of suck because even if there is a lot of lying between candidates/programs, the fact that they didn't even lie to tell me that i was going to be ranked highly must mean that i'm ranked super low!!
=(

seeing as how nothing i say will make a difference in where you'll match. i'll just tell you what you want to hear. you will for SURE MATCH INTO STANFORD NEURO!

also. what are your stats?

Lol, thanks!! 🙂

My stats: Step 1 235-245
Honors in Neuro, FM, and a few others, HP in IM
Top 10 med school
Lots of research, 3 publications (none first-author), 6 poster presentation

Not looking for a "what are my chances?" as I know that has been played out and doesn't serve any purpose...just trying to see if others have gotten that email

As drzing said, you have to take all these post-interview communications with a grain of salt. I've also received several emails and phone calls from faculty/PD/chairs of various places I interviewed at... Paraphrased, they say something like, "We really enjoyed speaking with you, you're a cool cat, and we plan on ranking you very highly... do you have any questions? HUH? HUH? HUH!?"

Some programs probably sincerely mean this, other programs probably want to make sure that they will fill their spots and be ranked highly by applicants for their own statistical benefit... it's very hard to differentiate between the two. I wouldn't worry too much about it, seeing as there is a little more than 1 week till match day!

Looking at your stats, I'm sure you'll be fine. +pity+

Your stats are impressive. Let us know if you match!

sooo.....no one else that got an email?? haha

just curious, how did everyone else like the program compared to others on the interview trail. (again, not trying to stark up a convo about my chances, just wondering what others thought were). did yall rank it as highly as i did?
