staple or paperclip for secondary?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would do neither...... it will need to be separated anyway.

paperclip, can be separated easily but is less likely to get separated unintentionally.

If you're this concerned, use a staple along with a $100 bill.

Stapling is the best.

True, but what if an adcom member pokes his/her finger on the pointy back part of a staple? You'd just be asking for a rejection. Of course, the same could very well happen with a paperclip. My suggestion is silly putty: no pokey parts whatsoever.

AHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I've got to bump my applying class' AA thread 😉

Roll your secondary up and use scotch tape until you have a large ball of tape and paper. Mail your "Secondary Ball" to the school. If they REALLY want you, they'll find a way to read your application.

 oh sweet mother of crap...well, i guess this is better than the infamous "smile with teeth or no teeth showing in secondary pic" thread (yes, someone actually posted a thread debating that issue)

What the hell is this disease that 70% of pre-meds suffer from? Dont' know how to make a decision unless someone else concurs with you?? Is it psychology of the masses? For God's sake people, think on your own for once!! This is akin to the "why do you want to go into medicne" threads - fishing for answers to see if what they think is ok.

Okay, I'm done. I feel better. 🙂

LMFAO!!!

Thanks for this thread, I really really needed a good laugh - and I'm not trying to bash the OP, I just think it's sad how pre-meds (especially myself, believe you me!) are soooo darn neurotic! Look at what this profession does to us!!! 😀

As to your original question, I staple the secondaries myself. :meanie:

How about Elmer's glue? Sounds like a safe, non-poking alternative! 😀

you could always fold the corner of the stack of pages down to keep 'em together. But, if your app, with attachments is the size of a small book, this may not work. Neither would paper clip or staple for that matter- go with one of those black metal clips. 😛

dont know about other schools, but i called gw admissions and the lady said to staple it... she was very adamant when she said "no paperclips!!!!"

   Call each school individually...the prefered method of attachment varies from school to school, and if you pick the wrong one your app goes straight to the shredder....some adcoms have a "Mommie Dearest--wire hanger" type reaction to paperclips/staples.

staples? STAPLES?!?!? NO MED SCHOOL FOR YOU!!!!!

NO DOG EARS

ms2209, I blame the system 😉

   I will often suffer through that entire movie just to see that scene.

no....wire.....hangers......EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just called georgetown...their response what very different from that of the gw lady... instead of answering one way or the other, the guy just started laughing!!! :meanie:

seriously- you guys need to CHILL. perhaps alcohol or heavy sedation. you're all going to have a collective heart attack before this thing is over.

Ahhh, yes, Elmer's glue - a very rational, non-pokey alternative indeed, and certainly more cosmetically appealing than silly putty. But alas, those good looks come with a steep price: Elmer's great Achilles' heel - which it shares with its more dangerous cousin, the staple - is that it is non-removable. A weary adcom member might very well end up ripping your secondary apart in his quest to separate its pages. And so, the Great Debate continues, in both its pokey and non-pokeyfied versions - staple or paperclip? Elmer's or silly putty?

The other option, of course, is the "Post-It" glue sticks. Those would allow for easy "removability" of the sheets! Of course, that might also mean a page could get lost pretty easily... :meanie:
