Has anyone in or out of dental school had any problems with their highspeeds as far as lubrication and the turbine seizing? Our school dictates what type of highspeeds we use from the start of D school, and our entire class has had problems. Star dental keeps blaming it on non-lubrication on our part, but this is not the case! Ceramic bearings? Non-lube? This is what we were originally told, but........... Anyway, just want to know if we are their new guinea pigs, or if more of you are included. Bye the way below is the email our entire school received.
Course Directors/Students,
In light of recent problems with the Star High-speed handpieces, recomendations from the company include MANDATORY HANDPIECE LUBRICATION FOR EVERY LAB SESSION. Please take the time to insure that your high-speeds are properly lubricated. This will increase the life of your handpiece/turbine.
Thanks
