Please help! How do I tell the DPT I'm observing tomorrow how to upload the hours on PTCAS if the applications for 2021-22 don't open til July 1?

Thanks so much everyone, this is urgent if anyone can please help me.

There are multiple ways to upload hours. You can tell the PT that near the July 1 date there will be an email sent from PTCAS to verify the observation hours online.

But if the person is not computer savvy, I would just keep track of the observation hours yourself on paper, have the PT sign it, and you can upload it to the PTCAS system.

I also sent a link to the PTCAS website that give more information on how to do it. Hope it helps!

You don't need to upload hours right now. If you won't be observing with this PT for long, i.e. just tomorrow, get them to sign the PTCAS form (on the website!) or ask them for their email and verify them through PTCAS that way once the application opens.

It's not something you need to stress about.

There’s an old version of a PTCAS observation sheet you can find on google, print it out and have your PT sign it off whenever you’re done. And then you can just upload that sheet when the site opens.

I will be observing for 80 hours til August. It will be once a week over the course of this summer.

Thank you, I will bring this tomorrow to the facility. Do I need to bring a copy each time I observe or is one sufficient?
It’s one sheet for each place you observe at. It only asks for the total hours so I would fill it out on your last day of observation at the place

If you're doing it till August I wouldn't even worry about it. Just discuss it with the PT on your last day there, which will be well after the PTCAS open date. No need to stress.

edited to add: the PT might not want to sign off on hours until after you are done anyway. because you could get sick or have something unexpected happen that would prevent you from getting the full 80 hours you have planned.
