For sometime, I was thinking about going to medical school outside of the U.S.
However, something that recently came to mind was the idea of isolation, especially if the med school is in a country where a different language is spoken that on doesn't understand.
I was thinking that if one went to another country, it would be quite the difficult task to sort of, venture out of the hospital and explore the land around it, if you will.
Does this sound right or wrong? Or mixed?

Or am I just worrying myself?:scared::laugh:

Why do you want to go to a med school abroad? Many foreign students get along well with others when they are abroad, especially if you find a group of students from your country. I know a couple of foreign students here "who explored the land" more than most of local students.

I don't think you will be "isolated" if you socialize well with people. Good luck.

Alright, that helps. Thank you.

But why do you care about my reasons for wanting to study abroad?

I don't think it's any of your business, no offense.

I'm not here to argue about my reasons, I'm here to find out more about the question I asked.

I just thought knowing the reason might help giving you more info according to your reason.

I think it depends on your personality as to whether or not you'll feel isolated. Have you ever had to move to a new place where you live?? Did you make friends easily or was it rather difficult?? If you're the type of person that tends to have no problem conversing with others you should find moving to a country not too much of a problem. I would advise you however to try and at least study the language you will be moving to if you don't speak it already. For one, even if classes are taught in English I'm sure you'll encounter patients later on in your training that will want to speak their own language (I'm mean think about it. Would you want to have to try and speak in a foreign language when you're in your own country and sick just because the doctor can't speak the mother tongue? I know I wouldn't). Just my two cents though.
