If you go to a school in another state.....and want to come back to practice in your home state, whats the process? Im from california, so to my understanding, if i go to a school out of california, when i come back i have to take part IV (the clinical exam) to get the california state license...is this true??

Also, i was wondering about the trinidad dental school.....they offer a DDS. So if someone graduates from trinidad with a DDS, what do they have to do to practice in lets say california.....do they just take the clinical exam, or is there a different process considering trinidad is an international school (even though they too give a DDS)

Every state has its own requirements and it makes no difference where you recieve your education, you still have to meet the requirements of the state where you wish to practice. This may involve taking the regional clinical exams (for example out east that would be the NERB). Your BEST bet is to contact the State Board of Dentistry in the state where you want to ultimately practice and ask what their requirements are. Many state boards have websites-- try that first
