This is the real state of the union:

It would be nice if our president came out with an honest assessment, "My fellow Americans, we in DC have thoroughly screwed you over and our best days are clearly behind us for a very long time." But since that won't happen I'll skip the idiot rah-rah speech and watch something useful like cartoons. Enjoy.

All completely true. In WW2 the top tax rate was over 70%. Meat, Gasoline, Sugar, Butter were all rationed. President Eisenhower did not sign a tax cut that a republican congress sent him because it would have increased the deficit.

President Bush told us in war to go to the mall and spend money to stimulate the economy.

Where are the republicans here? (not that the democrats are any better. To me they are only slightly worse)

This former republican is hard at work, earning a salary--half of which I will be coughing up to our betters in the elite ruling class in order to support them and the bureaucratic class and the "funemployed."
