Can any 3rd or 4th years offer any advice/resources for writing "statements of intent"

hey airbud hows it going,

Im going to assume this is in regards to clerkship applications. So ill copy paste you what an attending here at scholl told me via email.

"In a nutshell, a letter of intent is basically a written statement from you declaring your intentions to commit yourself to that clerkship for the indicated period of time. Clerkships do this so students can't back out at the last minute and deny ever saying anything.

The biggest misconceptions about letters of intent is that they need to be long and elaborate. My recommendation would be to keep it short and simple. I did just that and had no problems getting clerkships."

i followed the letters she sent me verbatim and filled in the blanks with all but my name and also had no problems securing clerkship spots.

If youd like, PM me your email ill send you what i sent to programs.
