I would retake . . . unless, are your grades really good? I would suggest Barron's for the PAT. If you just improve that score you would be very competitive.

Most schools have some sort of minimum before they send secondaries or invite to interview. I would immagine that most would eliminate PAT below 15 or so. . . . .but it never hurts to call. often they will tell you on the phone what their numerical cutoffs are.

what schools are you lookin at. I think a 13 sticks out like a sour thumb. It was the monitors was it! I think we outta start a riot at the aDA office and fight for better monitors. not being able to see the figures clearly should not be a reason one does bad on that section. Thats not fair. the damn test cost 160 dollars, take a 1/3rd of that cost and buy some freakin decent computers why dontcha now.

Have you actually called and asked for numerical cutoffs? If so, what school and what were the cutoffs?

No hidden agendas - just curious. I hope no one is offended. Perhaps cutoffs are not used by all schools or, are set at different levels.

I sort of agree with the idea of cut-offs. I think anyone with a science degree (all the pre-requisites) with a GPA above 3.0 and a science DAT of 17 would probably be sufficiently prepared. It must be difficult to estimate predictors of future academic success. It must be a very difficult task to select the ~90 students from hundreds that may also make excellent dentists. It would be great if all those who are sufficiently prepared could be accepted. 🙂

Some of us feel a little anxious about the uncertainties - that's all. I guess I am spending way to much time looking at this stuff.

Just search on the university webpage for dental school and they when you get into their dental school website there should have a contact webpage/link there.
