So I'm taking my exam 3 weeks from today, so kind of in freak out mode. I'll finish DIT by tomorrow as that was taking up most of my time. I've also been doing UWORLD everyday also. I'm hitting a consistent 63-66% in UWORLD so I'm kind of worried. Is that bad??? My goal is to get between 220-230, is that doable??? I haven't taken an NBME yet. I think I'm going to take one by the end of this weekend to see where I stand. I know I know the material but there's always little stuff I miss here and there and I hate it!!!!

So these, last 3 wks is going to be UWORLD and lots of FA/Pathoma and maybe some NBME's. I just hope I can reach my goal, any advice would be much appreciated!!!! Good luck to all those studying!!!

Good luck.

Do not tend to overthink questions. This kind of advice is usually a "hindsight si 20/20 advice" but if you stay sharp and think it through, you can atl east maximize your chances by eliminating answers.

At times you may run into questions that have familiar topics but seem to frame the question in a very new and unique way that leaves you scratching your head. Do not panic. These qusetions were designed this way because if every question was like the Qbanks, everyone would get max scores.

For these, try to isolate the ESSENCE of the question. Look at ALL of the information given to you and try to integrate the information.

Seldom will a question just give a tiny bit of information and then let you go... usually those can be accomplished by being Mr/Mrs Buzzword (and thus will usually be in First Aid)

I did not recall one single question on my Step 1 that gave very very little prompt and then asked for an answer, that was not a First Aid fact

Not all of the test can be accomplished by being Mr Buzzword. IN fact, being Mr/Mrs Buzzword will only realistically giev you around a 220.

Finally, many questions like to include an answer choice with a complete ZEBRA of an answer choice. This is designed to get you to think: "whoa i dont know what that is! Maybe... that is the answer!"

My advice: ignore that answer initially and work from the others. More often than not, the zebra answer choices solely are there as distractors.

Nonetheless, if you can definitively rule out the other choices... then... go at your own peil
