Hey guys, seeing that there's a thread for the January takers, I thought I'd see if there's interest for us February folks. I'm planning to take the test in late February.

It's nice to meet you! I haven't done a practice test yet, right now I am reading through First Aid and doing USMLERx questions, then I will do a practice test. What about yourself?

i have done kaplan course ,then did uworld and FA.

now doing DIT course .so how is your prep going .

how r u liking usmlerx.i think it has changed .i did like 15 blocks of usmlerx and found it is not easy as ppl claim . my scores in usmlrx were only slightly more than uworld.so how r u finding usmlerx ?

Taking it Feb 27th. Starting with FA annotated w/ a few sources + Uworld. Going to supplement with kaplan resources in all likelihood.

i find usmlerx to be easier than uworld, but some of the questions are tricky. i really like it because it goes well with first aid. but i don't think it's representative of the real test.

i find usmlerx to be easier than uworld, but some of the questions are tricky. i really like it because it goes well with first aid. but i don't think it's representative of the real test.

i m really liking dit so far .i will finish 11th day .i have put too much stakes on dit .17 days for only dit .so fingers crossed.

dit ppl have really worked hard to make the whole course.hopefully my nbme scores improve coz dont know what will i do if it dont happen ....i took UWSA1 -15 days back got 220

when r u taking the exam ? have u done uworld

Hello, Kitty.. I think some students might be IMGs, so their semesters end in April, August, and December.. There are a lot of people who don't take it from May - August, and have some extra time to study for the Step 1 than American graduates.. but then again, this might not apply to these students here and everything i'm saying could be wrong.. but I thought I would just throw it out there in case u didn't know too much about medical schools overseas 🙂

some US schools have shortened preclinical curricula that call for taking the Step in winter of the second year, or even in winter of third year after the clerkship year is over.

I'm one of the 18 month pre-clinical folk for those interested (finished my clinical year in December). I just took my baseline exam, decided to go with a uworld one rather than the NMBE for no particular reason other than convenience. It turned out pretty much as I expected it would. I did impressively poorly on the biochem, genetics, and embryo. Low to average on histo, immuno, physio, and the more theoretical parts of pharm (kinetics, etc). Did average to well on the systems stuff (other than pulm, always been my weakness), anatomy, microbiology, path, histo, behavioral sciences, and applied pharm. I look forward to seeing how I progress after this coming week (Devoting it to immuno, biochem, and genetics). I'll keep you guys updated .

I will take the exam around Feb 20 or so. I have done a little bit of uworld but not all, I am saving that for later. When I take a practice test I will update you!
