Step 1 Mean and SD

Just wanted to let you all know some of my classmates have gotten their scores back (average 4 weeks) and they report the mean was 216-218 and SD of 24. Pretty big SD!!

The mean seems to be creeping up and with a wider SD. When I took it in June 2000 the mean was 215 with SD of 20. Step 2 in December 2001 had a mean of 210 and SD of 23 and finally Step 3 in May 2003 had a mean of 211 and SD of 18. Shows you that people seem to study the most for Step 1. Oh, and those means and SD are from U.S. and Canadian med schools for 1st time test takers.
