Pretty much I am on break but can't go home and see my family or friends so I am going to try and distract how miserable I am with some step studying. I am taking Step 1 in mid April (~3.5 months out) and have been doing some zanki and Rx questions along with classes.

I am interested in a competitive speciality and would ideally like to score 255+ on the real deal. I have about 2 weeks of break that I will use at least some of to study for step 1. What do you guys think would be the best use of time?

My current plan was going to be to do ~80 questions of the kaplan qbank with reviews for systems I have already completed per day. Then maybe a few sketchy videos at the end of the day.

Was planning on starting Uworld like a week out from dedicated.

Any thoughts are appreciated, but as mentioned I have nothing to do this break and am upset I can't see my family and friends so not studying isn't really an option (trying to distract myself), hate to be that guy though. Thanks

Find a balance regardless of the stage of education/training you're in. Sorry you can't see friends and family, because it's always nice to have that anchor during this time of year. I didn't start studying for step 1 until after the new year of second year. I actually did nothing that resembled studying in between the summer break between 1st and 2nd year. It's the last summer break you'll ever get before you have to be a pseudo-grown up. But I did have a very healthy diet of qBank and First Aid. I actually had the binder of my First Aid broken and three-hole punched so I could easily write notes into the margins that I'd glean from lectures. Don't forget to have fun. Cheers.

Sorry to hear. It's rough to not be around the people you love this time of year.

Maybe test out a few UWorld questions before dedicated. To get your feet wet, since people say they're closest to the real thing.

A quick day trip, or breaks here and there, might help mitigate the misery. Take care o' you.

What I have done is plan to complete almost every chapter of FA and Pathoma (except for systems we have not covered yet, such as GI, Psych, and Heme) and will be finishing all RX for those systems.

Sketchy micro has already been complete for a while but will be finishing sketchy pharm as well.

I'm in the same shoes as you. No family or friends in the area and can't make it home so gotta get back to it. I tell myself that it's a wonderful time to grind it out! Many of us have anywhere from 2-6 months until the big day! Happy holidays and wish you the most productive break ever! Everyday counts!

Get to it mane!

Don't. You'll start the burnout early. Been there done that regret it.

If you absolutely have to study, watch sketchy.

Do something better for yourself, like gym or running. Cook great food, binge a video game, take a road trip.
