anyone else take the test in mid august??? i took it 8-14, no news yet...am i the only one with no results yet?

actually, i called ecfmg and they said that they sent a note to my school to verify enrollment/eligibillity. wtf??? does this mean i don't get my scores until my school returns the form? anyone else have this happen? i don't know why they bother with this, i don't really think that they have a bunch of people trying to sneak into this exam...wouldn't do a whole lot of good to take it if i wasn't enrolled in school, eh.

just want my darn scores, and i cannot for the life of me imagine why it takes so long, and seems to be so complex. am i crazy, or shouldn't we be able to log on to the website a couple days later to see our results?

a quick update and note for folks...ECFMG does randomly re-verify, and when they do this you gotta wait even longer for your score report...i my case, they have the wrong address for my med school on file, so it is going to be at least 8 weeks from when i tested til i get my results....can you say "sucks"

there is some good news, though. for those who are registering for the USMLE, do not register more than 120 days from when your test period begins. otherwise they automatically send the re-verification note to your school. if your school is as slow as mine with paperwork, this is something you want to avoid!

Neilc, I took my exam on the 27th of March and got the report on July 17th. That s just short of four months. But you can try the old trick with the ecfmg site to see if you ve passed, if you can t wait for the mail.

yep...i have tried the trick. the problem is my scores won't be reported until after i am re-verified, so that trick just doesn't work! those bastards...😡

four months...man, i am stressing after only 6 weeks. you are a stronger man than i!

YOU ARE A VERY STRONG MAN NEILC. Waiting for the results is not easy. I took mine on Aug. 26 and my OASIS was updated yesterday. I cannot tell you how miserable I was waiting for that fateful Wednesday. I was depressed, and slept all the time. But thank GOD things went well.

Neilc, I respect you and admire your composure and maturity.

I hope the best for you, and hope that you get a very very very high score.

don't you just love the warm, fuzzies....and there was a post on another forum about how doctors are so mean to each other! not all of them are bad, eh!

Neilc, a word of personal experience. Do everything you can to avoid thinking about that score report. I know it sounds hard, but there s nothing you can do about it. I was checking the mailbox 3-4 times a day for 2.5 months, spent countless hours thinking of all the reasons for which the report wouldn t come and wrote a dozen mails complaining to ecfmg. I reached a point where i was thinking that my visiting the moveon.org site during the war in Iraq was screened and I would never receive that report🙂 So, try to keep your sanity, it will come..

well, i finally got the report...and i am not sure that i am so glad i did. got a somewhat stinky 192/78...the good news is that my decision between ob/gyn and surgery just got a bit easier.🙁

I don't get it... is one of those much easier than the other?

Also, don't let a low score get you down too much... you can still go into whatever specialty you want, as long as you're willing to go to lower ranked programs. 🙂

i think ob/gyn is a bit easier match than GS....at least that has been the impression that i have gotten.

am i crazy? or am i screwed out of both....oh, god, please don't make me do IM!!!!🙁
