Ok, here's what I read on the NBME site earlier today.

Step 1 News
Step 1 Score Reports 5/15/2006

Normal score reporting for Step 1 usually occurs in 3-4 weeks. However, because of necessary modifications to the test item pool as well as the processing load caused by a heavy volume of test takers, there will be a delay in score reporting for most Step 1 examinations administered in late May and June. The target date for reporting Step 1 scores for most examinees testing from May 19 through late June will be Wednesday, July 19, 2006. It is possible that scores may be available earlier - please check this web site for updates.

July 19?th I took my test on May 20th. Does this mean I may not get my score back for two months??!! Let me know if I'm interpreting the info incorrectly.

Thanks

uh yeah, i read that too. like what is that all about. i always wonder why they can't just tell you the score ASAP?

I took my exam May 20th also. I am already on pins and needles waiting for my score, so I can't believe this news. This is complete crap -- do they really expect us to wait 2 months? Also, what about unfortunate people who took the exam in late May and may have failed it. It seems like a disadavantage not to know until 2 months afterward.

I hate the NBME -- between this and all the nonsense with CS, I don't have much faith in them. I think people who have to wait 2 months for their scores should get a partial refund. 😡
