Hi all,
So my S/O has recently been fighting with me non stop (long distance relationship, stressful school situations for the both of us). And recently he has been fighting with me constantly. Like multiple times a week. I really want to get a high score on Step 1 so I can be competitive for radiology. However, the stress of him on top of studying for classes this semester has kind of set me back with studying for Step 1. I have recently asked that we only talk for 10 minutes every few days and that there can't be any fighting between us. He thinks of this as me as discounting his emotions. Is it really all that much to ask of him to put his feelings aside between now and the end of June? He says he doesn't feel like I'm committed to the relationship... Any thoughts?

No this isn't a bad course of action. Based on what you are telling us if there was no reason for him to be fighting other than him needing attention to his emotions, he needs to understand you are doing something very serious, its like arguing with someone the week before their olympic match. He's discounting your emotions and you have something more serious going on in your life. If he can't hang with it, good riddance.
