Step 1 This Thursday!! Which NBME Form Should I Take?

Hey All!

First off, I'd like to say thanks to everyone here at SDN. I've learned a lot from you guys.

I'm taking my Step 1 this Thursday . . .I've taken NBME form 1 and I'd like to take one more between now (Sunday) and the exam... Any suggestions on which form I should take?

From what I gather, Form 3 tends to be called the hardest by some, so that might be a good way of self-assessment. But it prob. doesn't matter; if you do well on any 2 forms, you odds are you are ready.
Good luck on Thursday. I am taking it on Friday, so I am totally with ya. USMLE's are competitive, but we should always keep in mind that the main reason why we do this is not to compete with each other, but to help patients; so mutual support is very important.

I have taken all of them and I will offer my perspective. I thought NBME 2 was by far the hardest, a lot of ambiguous and trick questions so if you think you wanna challenge urself b4 the real thing then take 2. But if you think it might hurt ur ego then go with 3, its still pretty good and i thought 1 and 4 were the easiest. I think this is going to vary from person to person.

I thought form 1/2 were the easiest and 3 was the hardest. but i took form 3 before studying, and form 2 a few days ago (t-5 days until test)

I took forms 3 and 4 and got approximately the same score. Form 4, taken last week. Form 3, I took this Monday. Regardless of the scores, I felt them to be about the same in difficulty. I wouldn't spend money on forms 1 and 2 since the questions are available thru some link on this forum. I would take either forms 3 or 4, use the freeze screen option and re-think the answers after you've submitted the exam. The exact NBME q's are known to be repeated on the real exam.
