Hey everyone,

I know this topic has been covered in various areas over the past, but each situation is different. I'm looking for advice on whether or not I should take USMLE Step 2 CK. I took step 1 and got a 226 and 540 on COMLEX. I will be looking to apply to mostly MD pediatric residencies in the Mid-Atlantic Region (PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, NY), because of few DO residencies and wanted to know if I should invest the money and just take Step 2. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I found that studying for the USMLE prepared me very well for the COMLEX (just had to fill in the extra pieces for OMM etc toward the end). USMLEWorld is by far the best qBank out there. With the increased depth of knowledge you have I feel it made the COMLEX much easier when you came across one of the famous "what are they even talking about?" questions. My recommendation would be to take both. You don't want to be having "What ifs" when this is all said and done.
