  1. Fellow [Any Field]
I'm taking step 2 CK on friday and I haven't really had time to adequately prepare for the exam like I did for step 1. That being said, I'm not feeling like I'll be scoring as well. I'll probably pass, but how high remains to be discovered...

Anyhow, I have plans set for a peds fellowship after my residency, in most likely neo, but cards is a consideration. For those of you who have gone through the interview process or are familiar with it, I ask, how big of an emphasis do fellowship programs place on step 2 scores?

Thanks!

And along with that, do step 3 scores play any role either?

The competition for most peds fellowships is not that bad. Most of the fellowships consist of 1 yr of real clinical work and 2 yrs of research. The ACGME may be trying to mke some changes with that, being that many people in pediatrics don't go into specialties for that very reason. That being said, LOR's are probably the best factor for you in getting into fellowships. So you will have more than a good chance if you go into residency and impress every attending that you come accross. Your step 2 (or 3) score won't matter by that point.
