Hi guys i had a question whats the right method of doing uworld is it necessary to do the questions in timed mode or its ok to do in tutorial mode too ?

Secondly how many questions should be done in a day and whats the best way to revise uworld.

I have 30% remaining

please advise.

it can be done in either mode tutor or time mode, depending on what makes learning the easiest
try to do around 150-200 questions a day, as the real exam is long 9 hours so its good to practice doing lot of questions
and reviewing the incorrect questions and reading all the explanations it the best way to go about it
sorry there is no magic bullet here

Tutorial mode is best for learning, timed mode is best for getting your speed up to snuff. So use both.

I used tutorial mode most of the time and I used it throughout ms3 year to study for shelf exams. Then before I took step2 ck i did the onetime reset and did it in blocks of 46 questions in timed mode to get used to doing it for real. The test is really long and part of it is endurance so I recommend studying in real time environment.

why is tutor mode best for learning? cause you get to see the answer right away? who cares you can review the q's after you take the block anyway.. now if in tutor mode they gave you pointers on how to answer a question and what the key parts of the question were then i could see that being useful but other than that, instant feed back is nice but not really necessary.

Immediate reinforcement is generally better because the longer you think the wrong answer is the right one, the more of a chance it cements into your mind.

I know I randomly answered a bunch of Qs just to get to the end to see if I got the right answer to that one Q that was really bothering me......needless to say I switched to "Tutor" mode right away. 😀
