hello everyone. i took cs almost a month ago and have not heard back but i am anxious because i feel like i failed. in med school i always did about average on exams and we had one cs mock exam and i did okay but every time i thnk about this test i am worried. i forgot to do a lot of h&p and often ran out of time in the note so i only got to put a afew diagnostic studies and didnt formulate a good differential dx. did anyone else feel like they failed and do ok in the end? also if i fail this how will residency programs evaluate me?

also maybe aprogdirector can help with this one: do i have to send an updated score report to programs once this comes in or can i wait til after the match? and if i fail and i dont release the score til after the match can programs kick me out of an acceptance?

So, first of all, you certainly could have passed so it's probably best to try to not worry about this for now. Easier said than done, I realize. 😉

As for the match:

1. You do not need to release your score, should you fail.
2. Programs cannot "void your contract". The match is binding on all parties. If you cannot start on July 1st, then they can void your contract -- such would happen if graduating from your med school requires a pass on CS or if the state you are going to requires a pass on CS for licensure and you are unable to do so before the end of the school year, which seems unlikely (you have lots of time to retake it, should you actually fail).

If programs were to ask you about your Step 2 CS and you were to not tell the truth, that's fraud and that's bad.
