Step 2 CS for ranking

Hey everyone, I've got a quick question about Step 2 CS. I'm a US senior and I've been told that some programs require Step 2 CS before they'll rank you. Fair enough, but what is the last date for this? I believe that rank lists are due for applicants by February 22, 2012. This is also the last last day of the reporting period for applicants who take Step 2 CS by December 31. If I am in this group of test takers (Nov. 6 - Dec. 31), will programs accept the score, or is this too late? Thanks!

Many programs finalize their rank lists at the end of January/early February, before the formal NRMP rank list deadline. To be safest, it's best to aim to have your result by then (i.e. take exam in mid fall).
